Cherry Clafoutis

It is that time of the year where cherries are in season and I'm trying to get the best out of them by making cherry desserts. This was my first time making a cherry clafoutis (recipe thanks to this blog), which is similar to a flan, but just warm in temperature and with added fruits. This was a lot more simpler to make then I expected and all the ingredients are just the pantry essentials! All you need to do is mix all the ingredients together, add the cherries on top, bake it and you've got a sweet summer dessert.




You will need:
  • 1 tbs butter, melted, for greasing
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup plain flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 cups cherries, pitted
  • Icing sugar, for dusting
The process: 
Preheat the oven to 190C. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the milk and vanilla extract. Add the flour, salt and sugar to this batter and mix until well combined. Grease a 8-10 inch round baking dish with the melted butter and pour the batter into the baking dish. Arrange the cherries around the dish and bake for 40 minutes, or until puffy and golden. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
